Mark Virgin is Associate Counsel with Preszler Injury Lawyers, serving clients across Alberta in personal injury, civil litigation, and more. Recognized by his peers in Best Lawyers in Canada for his work in insurance law, Mark brings over three decades of experience representing individuals in serious and complex legal claims. His practice focuses on personal injury claims, motor vehicle accidents, long-term disability claims, slip and fall cases, and institutional abuse matters.
Mark has appeared before all levels of court, including trial and appellate courts, and has achieved significant results for clients in cases involving brain injuries, psychiatric disorders, catastrophic orthopedic injuries, and fatalities. Known for his dedication to results, he is respected for advancing claims to trial when necessary and securing meaningful awards for his clients.
Outside of the courtroom, Mark is a highly experienced mediator and arbitrator. He regularly assists in the resolution of civil disputes across Alberta. He also frequently publishes and presents nationally and internationally, with a particular focus on clarifying the role of expert evidence. He has been recognized by the Canadian Bar Association with its Community Service Award for his dedication to his legal practice in the community.
Mark earned his B.A. from Western University in 1986 and his LL.B. from the University of Victoria in 1991. He is a member of the Canadian Bar Association and a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation. Outside of his legal career, Mark enjoys skiing, hiking, swimming, and international travel.
